This page provides information to assist you in managing assets within QUT.

Assets - Procedures Manual

Please refer to the Finance Management Practice and Procedures Manual, Chapter 8 for comprehensive information on procedures relating to the management of assets at QUT.

Assets - Private Use

Where QUT assets are partly used for private purposes it is necessary for reporting requirements to be met.

Purchasing Assets

Before purchasing assets it is recommended that you read these training pages. These pages in conjunction with the item category listing outline important information that you should be aware of before purchasing assets.

Maintaining Assets

After purchasing assets it may be necessary to update information relating to an asset from time to time (such as a change of asset location); or you may wish to run an asset detail report.

Please refer to QUT's Building Codes for entering the location of assets.

To update asset information please refer to these training pages. These pages also provide information to assist you in running an asset detail report.

The Stock-take Process for Assets

The annual stock-take of QUT's assets is a statutory requirement and is subject to scrutiny by the Queensland Audit Office.

Please refer to the 2008 Stock Take Guidelines word icon which outline procedures for performing the annual review of assets.

You can use the Stocktake Template (ADI) excel icon to manually input sighted asset information as part of the stock-take process. Remember: please save the data as a text before sending it to fcmu@qut.edu.au

Disposal Process for Assets

The sale and disposal of QUT's Fixed Assets is subject to scrutiny by the Queensland Audit Office.

Please refer to these Guidelines which document the process for asset sale and disposal.
