This insurance covers the University's liability at law for compensation and claimant's costs and expenses arising from any Claim or Claims first made against the Insured and notified to the Company during the Period of Insurance resulting from any civil liability incurred in connection with the Professional Services but not in respect of any such Claim or Claims resulting from any act, error or omission occurring or committed prior to the Retroactive Date.
The Professional Services mentioned above is defined as follows:
- The trainee activities of dietetics, nutrition & dietetics research, optometry, psychology, podiatry excluding actual surgery, medical imaging, radiation therapy, sonography, medical physics research (MRI & Bioimpedence), human movement studies, nursing and midwifery performed by students of the appropriate faculties of Queensland University or Technology under the supervision of suitably qualified professional; and
- the teaching/training and consultancy of dietetics, nutrition & dietetics research, optometry, psychology, podiatry excluding actual surgery, medical imaging, radiation therapy, sonography, medical physics research (MRI & Bioimpedence), human movement studies, nursing and midwifery performed by students of the appropriate faculties of Queensland University or Technology.
- Research activities undertaken by academics and/or students which relate to the respective faculty course of dietetics, nutrition & dietetics research, optometry, psychology, podiatry excluding actual surgery, medical imaging, radiation therapy, sonography, medical physics research (MRI & Bioimpedence), human movement studies, nursing and midwifery performed by students of the appropriate faculties of Queensland University or Technology, excluding clinical trials.
- Clinical counselling and advice and non procedural general medical practice services, provided by Queensland University of Technology medical & nursing centre in relation to nursing, optometry, human movement, psychology and non surgical podiatry.
