  1. Read the QUT policy Financial Management Practice and Procedures Manual, Chapter 9
  2. Decide on the vehicle or a short list of vehicles you wish to package, using the following link to review vehicle types and purchase price. Alternative ways include visiting dealers, red-book website or visiting the home page of the vehicle dealer i.e. Holden Toyota, Ford https://packageplus.catch-e.net.au/clients/packageplus/services/index.phpo?_module=Calculator&_page=Calculator&_service_reset=&_screen_width=1280&_screen_height=1024&_gb_browser=IE
  3. Contact Package Plus on 1300 537 829 to arrange a consultation, with Ged Tranter (Ged is on campus three days per week rotating between KG and GP)
  4. Review and sign contracts, ensuring full understanding of obligations. Key items QUT suggests employees understand;

a. The amount to be deducted from each pay.
b. How to undertake maintenance on the motor vehicle.
c. How much you have budgeted for fuel and maintenance.
d. Is the lease payment due in advance or arrears and the impact on pay deductions (i.e. first and second pay deduction may be higher).
e. When to expect your fuel card and how the fuel card works.
f. How the amount of km travelled affect the lease costs.
g. If the budget km’s are not achieved how does this effect my FBT payable. Note you may have to make additional payments if the FBT target is not achieved.
